About Us
We are a team of student journalists committed to uncovering public health issues that directly affect young people today. Extreme Diet is an investigative news package that explores the rising trend of extreme dieting among university students, examining its causes, consequences, and the urgent need for awareness and intervention.
Driven by data, expert insight, and real-life experiences, our reporting combines field surveys, expert interviews, and firsthand student testimonies to present a balanced and responsible narrative. We work closely with dietitians, psychologists, and public health sources to ensure factual accuracy, ethical reporting, and sensitivity toward vulnerable individuals.
This project focuses on how financial pressure, social media influence, beauty standards, and mental health challenges intersect to push students toward unhealthy eating practices. Beyond highlighting the problem, we aim to provide context, understanding, and solutions, emphasizing sustainable health over appearance-driven trends.
At the core of our work is the belief that journalism should not only inform, but also protect and empower. By giving a voice to students, experts, and families, Extreme Diet seeks to spark meaningful conversations, challenge misinformation, and encourage responsible choices because health should never be the price of fitting in.
